FAQs

Does the UK Bribery Act apply to all businesses?

The Bribery Act 2010 (or BA2010) applies to all companies in the United Kingdom, as well as those which are incorporated under the law of the United Kingdom.

Do all companies need an anti-bribery policy?

It’s not a legal requirement to have an anti-bribery policy. However, if a bribery offence takes place within the business or by a business that acts on behalf of the business, a defence will not be available if a policy has not been put in place.

Is anti-bribery training compulsory?

Basic training on the anti-bribery programme should be given to all employees and board members, most likely as part of wider training. In addition, dedicated, and specialised anti-bribery training should be given to anyone in high-risk functions.
